Kora Kitab is an initiative that has over the years developed to emulate the values of sustainability.
The initiative began in 2014 and was initially know as paper revitalized
When the founders decided to collaborate with Non Governmental organisations to conduct art workshops due to their background in architecture they resourced materials from the leftover submissions in their college (Sir J.J college of Architecture)
THIS GAVE BIRTH TO THE IDEA OF REGULATING WASTAGE
The first reclaimation drive was conducted in Sir J. J college of architecture and a minimal of 20 students donated, even through that donation the founders were able to develop enough notebooks and art papers for the collaboration workshop
The design of the books has been evolved over the years to reach this level of simplicity and effective finesse
- First came in the need to resolve unavailability of resources to children in rural India
- Second came in the need to control the excessive and unregulated wastage of resources by the urban locale of india
- Once the large magnitude of this wastage was registered a need to establish a system to regulate this flow of converting wastage into a continuous resource was felt , commercialising this process by ensuring each aspect of the initiative caters to the well being of the people associated with it led.
- The collaborations with Self help groups through out Maharashtra ensures an extra income to women of various villages in and around Mumbai
Currently KORA KITAB is focused on colleges in Mumbai we hope to add private, government and commercial offices to the circle soon focusing on expanding through the country
